Thai massage, or Nuat Thai, is a system of massage and assisted stretching developed in Thailand, and influenced by the traditional healing systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia. It made its way to Thailand, where the Ayurvedic techniques and principles gradually became influenced by traditional Chinese medicine. Ayurvedic medicine, also a holistic form of healing, plays an integral role in the practice of both Hinduism and Therevada Buddhism. Although there are similarities in theory of "lom" or "air" much in the same manner as the Chinese meridian theory employs "chi", Thai Massage is in fact more closely related to "prana" of the Indian traditions of Ayurveda and yoga.
